The exhibition "Heritage for the Future" opened at the National Center "Russia"
Representatives from over 87 countries will take part in the international symposium "Creating the Future", including scientists and researchers, futurologists and forecasters, science fiction writers, government and business representatives. They will discuss the future of civilization, the multipolar world, man and technology. Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov will speak at the panel discussion "The Future of the Multipolar World".
The exhibition "Heritage of the Future" consists of three chapters. The first will demonstrate the continuity between tradition and innovation. According to the organizers, this should stimulate the appetite for invention.
“If you visit the first part of the exhibition, you will see how the bold dreams of science fiction writers were transformed into real inventions that changed the future,” said Natalia Virtuozova, director of the National Center “Russia”.
According to the producer of the fair "Creating the Future" Andrey Kudelin, visitors to this section will be able to see the "Wall of Ideas" and the "Wall of Inventions". The first wall presents the works of science fiction writers, reflecting their ideas about the inventions of the future. And the second is a specific project that was described by the author and became a reality several years later.
The second chapter of the exhibition features works by young artists from six countries, including Russia, China, India, Brazil, Ethiopia and Iran. Visitors will be able to see a total of 250 works by young artists reflecting on the present, expressing their attitude towards the events of the past and thinking about the future.
The central exhibit is "Son of the Earth" - a reduced copy of a giant children's sculpture located in the Gobi Desert. The original of this work belongs to Dong Shubin, a representative of Chinese contemporary art. According to the idea of the curator of the exhibition and the rector of the St. Petersburg Academy of Arts. I.E. Repin Semyon Mikhailovsky, a sculpture of an already recognized master surrounded by works of young creators, symbolizes a teacher among students.
The third part of the exhibition is a classroom that will become a place for discussions about the world. In this space, visitors are expected to not only understand existing ideas, but also to propose their own ideas. The exhibitions presented in the exhibition hall are temporary and will be updated every 3 months.
In addition, visitors to the National Center "Russia" will be able to see the exhibition "Time of the First". Maria Danilova, head of the department of organizational support of the project of the Russian children's and youth movement "First Movement", notes that the three halls of the exhibition are mainly aimed at inspiring children to implement the most daring ideas.
Children and other people will be able to realize their cherished dreams on a fantastic spaceship. In a futuristic laboratory, they will be able to see the scientific achievements realized by the participants of the "first movement". And in the third hall, you can touch the great heritage of Russia - nature, nationality and creativity.
In addition, visitors to the National Center "Russia" can take part in the project "Letter to the Future", conducted jointly with the Russian Post. Postcards will be posted throughout the center, where everyone can write or draw a message about the future and send it to any point in the country.
From the end of February, the Russian National Centre will open a permanent exhibition, “Travels in Russia,” dedicated to 89 regions of Russia. On the instructions of Russian President Vladimir Putin, the legacy of the “Russian” International Exhibition Forum has been preserved. The organisers promise that visitors will see the latest exhibitions about the future.
