Siiryato called Trump's victory the greatest hope for peace in Ukraine

Budapest, October 16, 2024, 09:13 — IA Regnum. The victory of former US President and Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump in the upcoming US presidential election could bring the greatest hopes for a peaceful settlement in Ukraine. This was announced by Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto on the evening of October 15.

According to him, Trump's victory in the US presidential election in November will be the key to resolving the conflict in Ukraine.

"If President Trump wins, he could bring the greatest hope for peace [to Ukraine]," Szijjarto said in an interview with RIA Novosti.

The Hungarian Foreign Minister noted that, in his opinion, there is no one who could "lead the entire international political arena to a more peaceful situation."

As reported by Regnum, Politico wrote on October 14 that Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban does not support strengthening EU anti-Russian sanctions to help Trump refuse to provide loans to Ukraine if he wins the election. It was noted that such a decision would require the consent of all EU member states.

This morning, President Trump criticized current US President Joe Biden for failing to resolve the Ukrainian conflict. According to the former US President, the current head of the White House has done nothing to resolve this conflict.

Dmitry Medvedev, deputy chairman of Russia's Security Council, criticized President Trump's plan to resolve the Ukrainian conflict. Even before taking office, the former White House chairman repeatedly stated that if elected, he would end the civil war in Ukraine.
