TASS: Quota for temporary residence of migrants in Russia reduced almost in half for 2025
The Cabinet of Ministers has approved quotas for temporary residence of foreigners in Russia. TASS, citing the document, reports that the number of permits will reach 55 thousand in 2025.
At the same time, allocations for 2024 have been cut almost in half - to 10,595. Permits are distributed among regions based on applicable applications.
The largest number of permits will be received in Moscow and the Moscow region - in 2025 there will be 1000 and 350, respectively. The quota for St. Petersburg will be reduced to 200. Tatarstan and Bashkiria will receive only 100.
Quotas are determined on the basis of proposals received from Russian entities, which are formed based on the results of an analysis of the migration situation and the economic situation in each region.
Earlier, the State Duma approved a bill aimed at banning immigrants from using virtual marriages to legalize themselves in Russia. The proposal was submitted to the National Assembly in November last year.
Thus, foreign citizens married to a Russian citizen who has permanently resided in the country for more than three years can obtain the right to a temporary residence permit in a simple manner.
