Russia is experiencing 30-degree frosts
In Yakutia, for the first time since the beginning of the cold season, the temperature dropped to -30 degrees Celsius. This was reported on his Telegram channel by Mikhail Leus, a senior expert at the Phobos Meteorological Center.
The thermometer reached this mark in the urban-type settlement of Deputatsky in the Ust-Yansky ulus of Yakutia. The lowest temperature there last night was exactly -30 degrees Celsius. In Verkhoyansk it was -29.3 degrees Celsius, in Oymyakon - -11.6 degrees Celsius.
Earlier, forecasters reported that frosts of up to -30 degrees Celsius are expected in the north-east of Yakutia on the nights of October 16, 17 and 18. In the northern region, the temperature will drop to -18 degrees Celsius. On this day, October 18, snow is expected in almost the entire region, and a blizzard with wind gusts of up to 20 meters per second will hit the south of Yakutia.
