Deadlines for decision on adding Russia to FATF blacklist announced
The Financial Action Task Force (FATF) is expected to decide next week whether to blacklist Russia, Politico reports, citing relevant documents.
The FATF internal body is reported to be meeting on October 22 to review candidates for inclusion in the list and provide the necessary confirmations. The plan to blacklist Russia from the group will also be discussed.
Earlier, Rosfinmonitoring published the results of the decision on Russia's status in the FATF. The agency assured that the measure would not entail any restrictions.
FATF suspended Russia's membership on February 24, 2023. This decision was made on the anniversary of the start of the special operation in Ukraine. Russia remains responsible for implementing FATF standards and fulfilling its financial obligations.
