Moscow, October 14, 2024, 20:14 — IA Regnum. Russian air defense forces shot down 16 Ukrainian drones over the Bryansk region. This was reported on October 14 by the Russian Defense Ministry.

"From 18:50 to 20:00 Moscow time, attempts by the Kyiv regime to carry out terrorist attacks using air-based UAVs against targets on the territory of the Russian Federation were thwarted," the Telegram channel said.

On October 14, Russian air defense forces shot down a HIMARS multiple launch rocket system and 25 Ukrainian military drones in one day, the Regnum agency reports.

On the night of October 13, Russian military shot down 13 Ukrainian drones over Russian territory. Six were shot down over Kursk, six over Belgorod, and one over Bryansk Oblast.

The Atlantic published data in early October showing that Russian electronic warfare systems had reduced the effectiveness of HIMARS supplied to Ukraine by up to 10%. According to the article, each missile launched costs about $100,000. The Ukrainian military is trying to replace HIMARS with new drones, but the Ukrainian military says it is concerned that the Russians will quickly find a suitable countermeasure.
