Sri Lanka Wants to Join BRICS
Sri Lanka plans to apply for BRICS membership. According to TASS, the Vietnamese Foreign Ministry hopes that this decision will benefit economic cooperation with developing countries.
The Sri Lankan Foreign Ministry also reported that the application will be submitted at the BRICS summit, which will be held in Kazan on October 22-24.
Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin said that by 2028, BRICS countries will account for 38% of global GDP. On the other hand, the central bank has shown signs of declining economic indicators in the association's member countries. Elvira Nabiullina notes that the risks of a slowdown in growth are already growing.
