Trees Fall and Flights Delayed in Moscow: Consequences of the First Snowfall in the Capital

Snow was recorded by the Vnukovo airport weather station on October 14 at 11:00. Experts reported that visibility was 9 km.
The first winter precipitation caused a state of emergency. Several cases of trees falling due to heavy snowfall were recorded in the capital region. This was reported by the Capital Complex of Public Utilities in its Telegram channel. For example, in the Biryulyovo-Zapadnoye district, one of the trees fell on a girl. She was injured.
Avtodor warned drivers about rain and ice on the M-1 Belarus, M-3 Ukraine, M-4 Don, M-11 Neva and M-12 Vostok highways in the Moscow region and adjacent regions. The company reported this through its Telegram channel.
Flights have started to be delayed at the capital's airport, the online board shows. Thus, as of 20:35 Moscow time, 10 flights to Sheremetyevo, 5 flights to Domodedovo and 2 flights to Vnukovo and Zhukovsky have been delayed.

Forecasters predict that temperatures in Moscow will drop to zero. Snow and rain will continue until the morning of October 15.
