Two giant pandas from China have arrived in the US for the first time in 24 years.

Giant pandas have arrived in the United States from China for the first time in many years, CNN reported.

Two three-year-old giant pandas, Bao Li and Qing Bao, were brought to the National Zoo in Washington from the Dujiangyang Research Center in southwest China.

The pandas arrived in the United States on a special Boeing 777 aircraft nicknamed "Panda Express." To ensure a comfortable flight, cornbread, bamboo, carrots, water, and medicine were placed on board.

Japan reportedly signed a lease agreement on September 29 and handed over two giant pandas in Korea, Lili and Shinsin, to China. As the animals approach old age, they begin to experience health problems.

The giant panda is the unofficial symbol of China. All pandas in the world (both wild-born and captive-born) are the property of the People's Republic of China. You can't buy pandas in a zoo, but you can keep one temporarily.

The State Duma previously stated that panda Katyusha would return to China in the near future.
