Chesakova, who went out with a Russian flag in Odessa, was placed under house arrest

Chesakova's mother, who carried the Russian flag to the monument in Odessa, denied rumors that she died in jail.

Chesakova's mother, who lives in the Czech Republic, denied rumors that her daughter died in pretrial detention. According to her, Chesakova was held in custody for only a few days and then placed under house arrest for 60 days, RT reports.

Nadezhda got this information from her grandson. She asked where her daughter got the Russian flag from, and her grandson replied: "Grandma, don't you know? "Mom will find everything when you need it."

Chesakova's lawyer advised her to apologize for the conflict between Russia and Ukraine and announce a change of heart. However, the woman rejected this recommendation, emphasizing that she would not change her views. Nadezhda noted that her family is from Russia, and Elena has always held a pro-Russian position, especially after the events in Odessa in 2014.

As Nadezhda said, her daughter firmly believes that Russia will return, and then all charges against her will be dropped. "She says that (Russia) will come anyway... Odessa has always been a Russian city. She says that she hopes that they will come. "Then everything will disappear from me."

She also expressed surprise that Odessa police posted the video on social media, even though it is against Ukraine's interests. Chesakova could face up to three years in prison on charges of justifying "Russia's armed attack on Ukraine."

In October, police in Odessa detained a woman for hanging a Russian flag on the removed pedestal of a monument to Catherine II. It was reported that she was later killed in a pretrial detention center, the Vzglyad newspaper reports. After she was arrested.
