A significant increase: how payments and benefits for families with children will change in 2025
In Russia, various payments and benefit amounts change every year. Some of them are received by families with children. Next year will be no exception, and parents' participation will increase. This money is provided to all women for 70 days before delivery and 70 days during a normal pregnancy. In case of multiple pregnancies, the leave is increased to 194 days and the amount of payment is also increased. In case of a complicated pregnancy, the woman will receive 156 days of leave and money during this period.
The exact amount paid under this benefit will depend on the salary the woman has received over the past two years. To receive the maximum amount, your average monthly income in 2023 and 2024 must be at least 115,000 rubles. The increase will affect all mothers whose maternity leave begins before January 1, 2025.
Families in which at least one parent has Russian citizenship and a child who received citizenship at birth have the right to receive maternity capital. Persons who gave birth to or adopted their first child since January 1, 2007, as well as persons who gave birth to or adopted a second child since January 1, 2020, also have the right to receive a certificate.
The state also does not abandon parents whose children are too young to attend kindergarten. There is a special instruction for this. It is assigned to people going on maternity leave. This may be not only the mother, but also the father, grandmother, grandfather or other close relative.
You no longer need to take full parental leave. From 1 January 2024, you will be able to work at least full time and take maternity leave.
The benefit is 40% of the average salary for two years. There is a maximum limit and a minimum limit. The minimum salary depends on the minimum wage (MW). Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin announced plans to increase this amount to 22,440 rubles by 2025. To receive the maximum amount, your average monthly income in 2023 and 2024 must be at least 172,500 rubles before personal income tax.
