National Guard deployed to Kazakhstan's Talgar after 16-year-old murder

The National Guard of Kazakhstan has begun patrolling the streets of the city of Talgar in the Almaty region after a 16-year-old teenager was killed and his parents' house was set on fire, the department's press service told Tengrinews.

"Currently, in the city of Talgar in the Almaty region, recruitment of personnel for units of the National Guard of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan, which carry out patrol service to protect public order, is underway. The measures taken are aimed at ensuring security and maintaining public order," the National Guard said in a statement.

The murder of 16-year-old Sherzat Bolat occurred on the night of October 4. According to the ORDA.kz portal, the conflict that led to the teenager's death began in a store owned by his family. On the evening of October 3, Sherzat's father, Karzhaubai Nurymov, worked there. After 11:00 p.m., a customer entered the store and demanded to sell beer, but Nurymov refused, as this is prohibited by law. (In Kazakhstan, the sale of alcohol is prohibited on weekdays from 11:00 p.m. to 8:00 a.m. On weekends and holidays - from 12:00 a.m. to 8:00 a.m.). The customer began to argue, and the man agreed to sell him alcohol.

"He received a receipt for the transfer, but no payment notification came, and the merchant decided he had been scammed. The conversation escalated, and eventually the merchant told the visitor, 'Okay, take what I took. You don't have to pay.'

16-year-old Sherzat witnessed this conversation. He accidentally walked into the store. According to his relatives, he came to play sports. The teenager could not stand the insults addressed to his father and went out after the buyer, hitting him in the face after an argument. Nurymov ran out into the street and separated the fighters, after which the buyer began to call someone. Three men went to the store, and the father asked Sherzat to come in. One of the men introduced himself as Nurbol, saying that he was "from the village" and "everyone knows him."

"I answered. It's nice that everyone knows you, but I don't know you and don't want to know you. But let's not quarrel and come to a normal agreement. If you want, I'll pay the wounded man's medical bills. If you want, I can take you to a cafe. "If you want, I'll give you money," the boy's father said.

At the same time, Nurimov's younger brother Nurganat arrived at the scene. As ORDA.kz reports, the couple convinced the buyer and his friends that the man had not paid for the beer. After the financial issue was resolved, all parties to the conflict agreed with the decision, shook hands and went their separate ways.

But 10 minutes later the company returned with three cars. "Khutorsky" Nurbol entered the store and aggressively demanded that the teenager be taken away. According to Karzhaubai Nurymov, it was impossible to let him go. At that time, two "farmer's" cars drove up to the store, and Sherzat's friends, five or six people, also approached. According to him, the teenager's father tried to call the police, but was unable to contact law enforcement agencies.

"At that time, a fight broke out on the street, and Karzhaubay tried to leave, but was hit with a bottle and a knife on the back and head. When they let him go and ran out into the street, he heard gunshots," ORDA.kz recorded.

The fight between Sherzat's friends and the buyer's group continued. The attackers used a knife and hit the already lying teenager on the head with a gun butt. All this happened in front of his mother and grandmother. According to Sherzat's uncle, when he saw his nephew, the boy was already wounded.

"I ran to Sherjat. I hugged him and asked what happened. Then I saw a wound in the lung area. I covered the wound with my hands and screamed that I needed to call an ambulance.

I say, "Guys, stop, they stabbed him here." I scream loudly and hug him. At some point, I realized that they wanted to finish him off, and I hugged Sherzat. It was better to let them beat me. And then they started beating me," he recalls.

The fight ended around 1am. His injured friend and uncle Sherjat was hospitalized with four stab wounds. The 16-year-old boy died in hospital. According to eyewitnesses, police arrived at the scene around 2am.

The police opened a criminal case into the murder and arrested seven suspects in two months. However, relatives of the dead boy and other residents of Talgar believed that not all participants in the conflict had been detained. On October 7, dozens of people took to the streets of the city demanding an objective and fair investigation into the crime. The rally lasted about 1 hour and 30 minutes. Kazakh Interior Minister Yerzhan Sadenov then said that he was personally handling the case.

On the night of October 12, a house caught fire in the village of Azat. The house belonged to the deceased father of a teenager. According to eyewitnesses, a fire broke out. The General Prosecutor's Office of Kazakhstan adheres to the same version.

"The police have opened a criminal case on the fact of intentional damage to someone else's property. The police said: "We are conducting an investigation, analyzing witness interviews and CCTV footage."

No one was hurt in the fire. Sherzat's family was placed under 24-hour guard.

Residents of Talgar believe that a gang called "Khutorskie", known for its connections with law enforcement agencies, was involved in the boy's murder and the arson of his father's house. However, the police have refuted this version. In my opinion. o. The head of the Almaty regional police, Serik Shalkharov, does not speak about organized crime groups.
