Russian soldiers restored captured American MaxxPro armored personnel carrier
Moscow, October 14, 2024, 07:19 — IA Regnum. The repair company of the Central Troops restored the captured American MaxxPro armored vehicles. As the company commander Vladimir told TASS, the vehicle is ready "for use" on the Russian side.
As the military man explained, the car was confiscated in the direction of Avdiivka. It hit a mine while not en route. It took about a month to restore. Russian spare parts were used.
"The equipment has been restored and is ready to be transferred to the unit to carry out combat missions," the commander assured.
According to him, the captured armored vehicle resembles a Russian reconnaissance vehicle. However, there are a number of technical differences, including the transmission, braking system, suspension and armor. Working with the vehicles allowed me to gain useful technical experience.
MaxxPro was adopted by the US in 2007 for emergency rearmament of the Iraqi army.
According to a report by Regnum, Ukrainian forces lost up to 290 personnel and a MaxxPro infantry fighting vehicle (IFV) in a single day in July.
