Political scientist names country with high chances of joining BRICS
Belarus will probably soon join BRICS due to its proximity to the Russian Federation and China, political scientist Bogdan Bezpalko, a member of the Council for Interethnic Relations under the President of the Russian Federation, told RIA Novosti.
Earlier, Bezpalko stated that the growing popularity of the BRICS organization indicates that the world community is working on an alternative to American hegemony.
According to Bezpalko, this alternative is credible for building an international economy “without leadership” from a hegemon.
Leaders of about 30 countries have reportedly confirmed their participation in the BRICS summit, which will be held in Kazan from October 22 to 24.
In addition, heads of regional organizations and executive bodies of the relevant structures are expected to visit Kazan. President of the New Development Bank Dilma Rousseff will also speak at the summit.
