Trump proposes to send in US troops in preparation for presidential election uncertainty
The U.S. National Guard and the U.S. military could be used to combat potential unrest on Election Day. Republican nominee for Secretary of State Donald Trump made a similar suggestion in an interview with Fox News.
"There are very bad people in our country, sick people, leftist lunatics. "If necessary, the National Guard will deal with this, and if there is an emergency, the military will deal with this," he said.
He did not clarify who he meant by that phrase, but stressed that potential problems on election day came primarily from "internal enemies" rather than migrants.
Earlier, American political scientist Malek Dudakov said that President Trump currently has a slight advantage over Vice President Kamala Harris. The expert said: "If the election were held tomorrow, Trump would have a slightly better chance of winning than Harris."
