Volodin explains Serbia's interest in BRICS: "Washington's hegemony is fading"

Moscow, October 14, FederalPress. Serbia has announced its intention to consider joining BRICS. According to State Duma Chairman Vyacheslav Volodin, this indicates the country's growing dissatisfaction with the EU's role as a partner.

Vyacheslav Volodin also noted that the economic indicators of BRICS significantly exceed the results of the G7. While the economy of the European Union (EU), including such large countries as Germany and Finland, is experiencing a recession and a decline in GDP, the BRICS countries continue to grow and develop.

BRICS currently comprises 10 countries representing 45% of the world's population, with more than 30 countries interested in joining the association. The BRICS summit in Kazan is expected to bring together representatives from more than 30 countries.

According to Volodin, countries around the world are choosing the path of equal dialogue and mutually beneficial cooperation based on the interests of their peoples, and not to please the United States and its allies. BRICS is confidently moving toward the status of a major economic center and is the key to a future multipolar world.

As 360.ru previously reported, the Deputy Prime Minister of Serbia called BRICS a real alternative to the European Union.
