The team of Russian boxer Dmitry Bivol has announced its intention to protest and challenge the result of his fight with Artur Beterbiev in Riyadh on October 12. This was reported by Bivol's coach Vadim Kornilov.

"Kornilov stressed the need to hold referees accountable for their decisions, noting that the current situation is detrimental to boxing. Administrators noted that the close relationship between referees and organization leaders creates systemic problems," Ridus reports. Kornilov also calls for a review of the number of strikes, since referees have previously proven themselves to be quite competent.

To date, this defeat is the first in Dmitry Bivol's career. Previously, he had 23 victories, 12 of which were knockouts. Artur Beterbiev's career has 21 victories, 20 of which ended in knockouts. Betterbiev has not suffered a defeat.
