Sobyanin told how the service "Removal of unnecessary things" helps Muscovites

Our service "Removal of Unnecessary Things" has been available for three years. During the entire period of work, city residents sent more than 2.3 million tons of goods for disposal or environmentally friendly processing, Sergei Sobyanin told the capital's mayor and the government portal.

According to him, the service's capabilities are expanding and becoming more convenient. Muscovites can quickly apply for the removal of any of the 24 types of goods presented.

"You can apply for the removal of unnecessary items in just a few minutes. You can also remove an unlimited number of kitchen units, refrigerators, pianos, lunar New Year trees, cars, etc. "Right away," the mayor of the capital emphasized.

This service was launched on October 12, 2021. Over three years, Muscovites have submitted more than 91,000 applications. This year, the trading volume has increased by 56.5%. More than 2.3 million tons of metals, plastics and other materials have already been sent to recycling sites for environmentally friendly recycling.

In addition, the service won in the nomination "Best implemented project in the field of secondary processing of raw materials (participation in distribution)" at the republican competition "Reliable partners - ecology". It also received a special award of the "Golden Site" competition in the nomination "Design for all (inclusiveness and universality)".

At the same time, in the first half of this year, specialists from the "unwanted things removal" service processed 154,000 requests, which is 24% more than in 2023. In most cases, city residents handed over large household appliances for disposal. More than 5,000 washing machines, 4,500 refrigerators and 3,000 stoves were sent for disposal.
