Windows has become slower: Roskachestvo has revealed nine ways to speed up a “freezing” computer

Roskachestvo experts explained what to do if your computer starts working slowly, pages open slowly, games and programs freeze. As a result, almost all users face problems with a slow computer. Your computer's performance may decrease due to insufficient RAM or processor power, malware, or an overloaded system disk.

If you are having problems with your computer, try restarting it. This is a simple method that can help you solve a simple problem. To restart your computer, open the Start menu in the lower left corner of your screen and select Restart. Save any changes to open programs before restarting your computer. After restarting, all applications will be closed and any unsaved data will be lost.

To ensure stable operation of your computer, you should regularly check for operating system updates. By default, your computer automatically checks for updates when you reboot or before shutting down. The system usually warns you about upcoming updates via notifications or the Start menu.

To check for updates, go to the Start menu and search for Windows Update. Here you can check if you need to install a new version of the OS, as well as set the time to check for updates and view the history of installed updates.

You can improve your PC's performance by changing the system settings in the Windows operating system of any device. To do this, click the Start button and type "visual effects" in the search bar. Disable transparency effects and animation effects.

If your device supports HDR video playback, disable this feature in the Display tab. Consider reducing the screen refresh rate. Set it to 60 Hz.

When you turn on your computer, some programs start automatically and run in the background even if you don't use them. This causes your computer to run slower because these programs use CPU and RAM resources.

To speed up your computer, it is recommended to disable the launch of most programs, or at least those that you rarely use. To do this, you need to open the Task Manager. Go to the Startup tab. Check the startup status of each program in the list. Disable the launch of all unused programs.

The Windows operating system provides various tips and recommendations that make the system consume additional resources. Notifications, recommendations, tips, and hints can be disabled using the Start button. Select Settings → System → Notifications & actions. In the window that opens, find “Get notifications from apps and other senders” and move the slider to the “Off” position.

In many ways, the reason why your computer is running slower is because your device’s memory is full. You can clean it up via Start Menu → Settings → System → Storage. Here, you can delete unnecessary files such as downloads, Recycle Bin, Windows optimization files, temporary files, etc.

Please review carefully before deleting programs, files, and their types from your system. Many components can affect the stable operation of your PC. Critical components include Microsoft, Intel, or AMD programs (depending on the processor manufacturer).

Select the SSD as the priority disk for installing the system. This will significantly speed up the operating system and programs on your computer. Save frequently used files and programs here. This will make things load and run faster.

Expand your RAM. The more RAM you have, the more applications your computer can run and process at the same time. This is especially useful when performing resource-intensive tasks.

Check the temperature of your computer components and install a cooler if necessary. When computer components overheat, the processor clock speed is automatically reduced, which always leads to a decrease in performance. Special utilities such as Speccy, AIDA 64, Everest, etc. will help you check the temperature of your components. If overheating is detected, you will need to wipe the computer from dust, replace the case, or install an additional cooler, depending on the availability of free slots.

— A modern PC is a device with many software and hardware components that constantly interact with each other. If you have problems such as low computer speed, do not forget to first check it for viruses. For this purpose, you can install an antivirus program. Additionally, to speed up your computer, you can use special programs to clean data. It automatically removes unnecessary files, such as temporary data, cache and old versions of programs from your PC. However, as in the case of antiviruses, choose programs only from trusted developers and download them from official websites. In general, no matter how much we would like to admit it, technological processes are developing inexorably, and sometimes the reason for slowing down the PC is not viruses or the entire system disk, but the obsolescence of system components. In this case, you should consider purchasing a new, modern system, ”explained Sergey Kuzmenko, Director of the Roskachestvo Digital Expertise Center.
