Two agencies have lowered their credit rating forecasts for Belgium and France
International rating agency Moody's has downgraded the outlook for Belgium's credit rating to negative, and Fitch Ratings also predicts a negative outlook for France's credit rating, Bloomberg reports.
The move comes a day after France's cabinet presented its 2025 budget, criticising Prime Minister Michel Barnier's efforts to tackle a sharp deterioration in public finances, the agency said.
Fitch Ratings previously downgraded Ukraine's long-term foreign currency issuer default rating (IDR) to 'C' from 'CCC'. In February, the agency said it had downgraded Ukraine's long-term foreign currency issuer default rating (IDR) to 'CCC' from 'B'. However, Fitch did not specify the rating outlook.
