Spare parts for foreign cars in Russia have doubled in price
Representatives of Russian insurance companies note an increase in prices for spare parts for cars imported from other countries, DEITA.RU reports together with the Izvestia publication.
According to the insurer, since the beginning of 2024, prices for foreign auto parts have almost doubled, or by an average of 78%. At the same time, prices for parts for some foreign cars have increased by almost 265% in two years.
Experts attribute the rise in prices to the introduction of sanctions against Russia. As a result, many foreign companies left the Russian automobile market and it became much more difficult to supply spare parts to the Russian Federation.
Insurers have warned car owners that over the past year the average price of spare parts for American cars has increased by 2.6%, in Japan by 6.2%, in Korea by 24%, in China by 15.5% and in Europe by 8.9%.
Automotive experts named the class leader in price. These are Skoda cars. Spare parts for models of this brand are 78.9% more expensive. Among the popular foreign cars in Russia, where spare parts have increased in price by 20-30%, are Subaru and Land Rover.
However, prices for some parts for foreign cars decreased slightly, averaging 0.7% for Ford and 7.6% for Lexus.
