Two people died in a fire in an apartment on Stoikosti Street
Around evening, a fire broke out in an abandoned house in the northern capital. This was reported by the press service of the Rescue Service of St. Petersburg.
The fire engulfed the building at 16 Lermontov Street, Building 2, at about 9:00 p.m. Firefighters quickly arrived at the scene and extinguished the fire in the non-residential building. No casualties were reported.
An application to demolish the house was announced in 2018, but was later cancelled. Three years later, it was promised to be sold. According to eyewitnesses, marginalized people now live there.
Earlier, there was a video reported showing firefighters rescuing a mother with three children and an entire zoo in Veliky Novgorod.
