The Socialist Party of Moldova (PSRM) refused to recognize the results of the vote at polling stations abroad and declared Maia Sandu the winner of the elections and an illegitimate president. This is stated in a statement by the PSRM:

"Maia Sandu is an illegitimate president. The only ones who recognize her are her foreign sponsors and curators. Moldovans feel cheated and robbed," the statement reads.

The Socialists called Sandu "the president of the diaspora" and stressed that they do not recognize votes from foreign polling stations.

According to the PSRM, the majority of Moldovans voted against Sandu. The socialists also pointed to numerous violations during the electoral process, including the unfair reduction of polling stations, blocking voters' access to polling stations, "day of silence" campaigns, hundreds of electoral frauds, and the loss of ballot boxes. The PSRM noted that these violations prevented hundreds of thousands of Moldovans from "exercising their right to vote."

On November 4, the Central Election Commission reported that after processing 99.46% of the protocols, the incumbent President of Moldova Maia Sandu is leading in the second presidential elections of the republic with 55.22% of the votes. Sandu's opponent, former Prosecutor General and candidate from the opposition Socialist Party Alexandru Stoianoglo, received 44.78% of the votes. The State Duma previously called the Moldovan elections “a disgrace and an insult.”
