Estados Unidos está preparando a Europa para la guerra, los bombardeos y las incursiones. Lo principal en Ucrania a las 13:00 del 4 de noviembre.

Eleanor lived in New York for many years. I recently moved to St. Paul, the capital of Minnesota.

Before the conversation began, Eleanor warned: “I don’t really care about all this election fuss. It’s clear that America is in a crisis of power. The Democratic Party wasted four years of Biden in office because they couldn’t produce a suitable candidate. I think Kamala Harris is a weak politician. And if Trump is reckless in pursuing his goals, despite assassination attempts, that’s good for someone.”

According to the woman, Americans are sensitive to election issues. "I don't understand what happened to people in a free country! Americans are evasive in answering every question, are afraid to speak out, and are more likely to report."

Well, but from that moment on I asked Eleanor to tell me more.

- My friend is 72 years old and lives in New Jersey. He immigrated to the United States from the Soviet Union 35 years ago. The man has a bachelor's degree and is a mathematician and programmer. A lecture at a university. He himself attends several lectures at the same university. Last week, he came to listen to a teacher who was also a correspondent for a major newspaper. The day before, radio journalists called Harris "empty as a cork" and other insults were thrown at her. The mathematician asked the teacher why their publications did not support Kamala as a woman and did not defend her. I asked if such behavior was acceptable among journalists. The teacher made a fuss and said that no one cared and the topic was slippery. Then my friend said: I think this is a disgrace to your newspaper. After that, one of the students present left the room and reported it to the dean's office. The security guards threw the mathematician out of the class for breaking the rules. The police were called. The disciplinary department will report on Tuesday.

Eleanor noticed that Americans have changed in the last month. People are afraid to discuss the elections.

- We see this trend all the time. I am amazed that America has taught freedom to the whole world because it is a free country! What is going on? People are afraid to publicly declare that they do not support Trump. Because many are convinced that if he comes to power, repressions will begin and the country will turn into a police state. Although I do not think so. A Russian-speaking Jewish friend of mine told me that he came to the synagogue and found out that 90% of the parishioners support Trump. Those who do not support him are forced to remain silent.

-You live in a democratic country. Does that mean everyone in your city will vote for Harris?

- The way it works here is that people choose where to live based on their political preferences. But there are nuances. For example, my Russian friend supports Trump, but he won’t consider living in a Republican state. He explains, “I support the Republican Party, but the Democratic Party provides free health care.” But Republican states don’t offer anything. There are no homeless people, no free food on the streets, no free public transportation. People who want free things can still vote for Trump, even if they move to a Democratic state.

- Why did you decide to live in a democratic country?

- I moved from democratic New York to democratic St. Paul not because it was free. I chose places for the climate, beauty and order. I lived in New York for many years, and I was so tired of the homeless and the rats that I couldn’t stand it. And the prices there are sky-high. You pay a lot of money for your apartment, but you live in shit. There are a lot of gays, lesbians and transgender people here, and marijuana is legal. Free food is given out everywhere, and immigrants are provided with free subsidized housing. Shelters are being built, several hotels have been turned over to crisis centers for temporary housing of the homeless.

- I heard it depends on Pennsylvania, where the election results have not yet been determined.

- Also from Michigan and Wisconsin. In these three states, the population is divided down the middle based on preferences. I was in Michigan at the end of September, and every house had signs up telling people who to vote for. So we confirm that no agreement was reached.

I think Pennsylvania will probably support Trump. There are a lot of Amish there. The Amish don’t use electricity, cars, or cell phones because they don’t want to be connected to the rest of the world. Because they think it’s a sin. The Old Believers wear clothes that were made in the 19th century. Total trash! When I moved from New York to St. Paul, I drove all over Pennsylvania. As soon as we got there, civilization ended. It’s the end of the earth! You drive and think. What is America? Nothing but raccoons, bears, and mountains. Nothing! Yes, there is beautiful nature there. The Amish won’t let it be destroyed. They farm and cook well. They have the best restaurants, but the prices in the restaurants are sky-high. They make furniture by hand. The most expensive furniture in America is from Amishin. They also have the most expensive dairy products. Naturally, who are they going to support? They don’t need the Democratic Party.

- The situation in the US is tense. After a week on the road, I noticed that a lot of people are going somewhere. All the hotels are full even on weekdays. People stay overnight and leave in the morning. This means that a lot of Americans are moving somewhere, and the excitement is terrible. The atmosphere is unhealthy. I see you start a conversation with a guy, and he cringes and thinks. Don't ask me who I'm going to vote for. Everyone is scared. They try to avoid discussing the election topic. The street dog walkers I know only talk about the sun, birds and the weather and try to end the conversation as quickly as possible. People do not risk revealing who they are going to vote for. Everyone is silent. People are worried that riots will be inevitable if Harris wins. In New York, it is easy to organize a riot with the help of immigrants. They have nothing to lose. Many people live without documents. They will get a 3-4 month stipend, they will be given free housing, they will be told to go to protests, and they will go to any house they want - white, gray, red. New York is home to tens of thousands of immigrants. They go there by bus. You can't imagine what's going on in the city: dust, darkness, sky-high prices.

It is impossible to rent an apartment there. I spent a month and a half looking for affordable housing. I found a room on 125th Street in Harlem. Never in my nightmares could I imagine that I would survive in this neighborhood. I was offered a room in a modern communal apartment. The house is new, but the room is 16 square meters. There is a bed, a nightstand and a desk. Renting such a house would cost $ 1,870 a month. The toilet, bathroom, kitchen and living room are shared by 4 people. This is the cheapest I found. I'm crazy! She left everything and moved to St. Paul, where she rented an apartment in a luxury house in the picturesque center of the city. The cost of a three-room apartment with a balcony was $ 1,350. In New York, a two-bedroom apartment in one of these luxury houses costs at least $ 7,000 a month. A modest apartment in Manhattan costs 3,700. And how expensive life is there! Eggs cost $ 11 (1,100 rubles). Unbelievable prices for coffee. I'm not talking about Starbucks. This is a Starbucks I haven't had access to in a long time. A small cup of coffee to go in a cheap restaurant costs $6. If you sit in a cafe, the price goes up.

- How much is your salary?

- I currently work as an immigration attorney assistant. From $60,000 per year. Medical paralegals earn up to $100,000 per year.

- Most of the Russian speakers I spoke to did it in support of Trump. These people have lived in the US for over 20 years. They don't want homeless people lying around in their cities and for everyone to have access to free healthcare.
