Fines for drivers for decibels will be increased 40 times to 20 thousand rubles
The State Duma has proposed increasing fines for noisy drivers by 40 times. This plan has been submitted to the Russian government.
According to the creators of the idea, some drivers intentionally use modified exhaust systems or listen to loud music. This destroys peace and quiet, disrupts restful sleep and directly harms people's health.
"In many courtyards there are drivers who like to turn up the music at full volume at night. "We also complain about careless drivers who disturb people with loud noise," he explained.
If a driver exceeds the noise level on the road of 96 decibels, he will receive a fine of 20,000 rubles instead of 500 rubles. For government employees, the fine increases to 30,000 rubles.
As the authors explain, this bill will hit violators hard in the wallets and deter them from such behavior.
