A woman and a hero of the SVO headed Russian regions: reshuffles in the gubernatorial corps
On Monday, November 4, it became known that both governors had resigned. At the same time, the heads of the Tambov and Rostov regions, Maxim Egorov and Vasily Golubev, resigned from their posts. Yevgeny Pervyshov and Yury Slyusar were appointed instead.
The 48-year-old acting governor of the Tambov region not only heads his hometown of Krasnodar, but is also a State Duma deputy. In the fall of 2022, when the army needed new soldiers, Pervyshov answered the call of the fatherland. We signed a contract with the Ministry of Defense and went to the front lines. In a year, he went from a private to a squad leader of the BARS "KASKAD" air reconnaissance unit. He showed courage and bravery in the performance of his duties, for which he was awarded the title "Man of Man". This is what is called the Medal "For Courage on the Front Line".
He also returned to civilian life at the call of his country. Yevgeny received an offer to participate in the program "Time of Heroes". Here the president found Pervyshov. During a meeting with the heroes of the Northern Military District in mid-June, President Putin asked him several questions. Vladimir Vladimirovich was impressed when he learned that the order-bearer replaced the State Duma deputy with a trenchman.
- I have a proposal for you. "I don't want to talk about it publicly, the cameras are rolling, but as soon as I find out something... it wasn't a joke," Putin promised.
The President remembered that meeting. When the governor's post became vacant, the offer was made as soon as the opportunity arose.
"Of course, I agree, it's a great honor for me," Pervyshov said about Vladimir Putin's trust. "I think I will find an opportunity to apply all the knowledge I've gained within the framework of the "Time of Heroes" retraining program in Tambov Oblast.
In Rostov Oblast, Yuri Slyusar, a 50-year-old veteran and native of Rostov, will serve as acting governor until the elections. For the past nine years, he has successfully led PJSC United Aircraft Corporation, part of Rostec. He also led Sukhoi from 2020 until its merger with UAC.
Slyusarev is described as an attentive leader who values honest work and pays close attention to his subordinates.
"I can say with confidence that we have made a great contribution to the development of the aviation industry and the aviation industrial complex. There is a proposal to expand the area of responsibility and work at a different level in the Rostov Region," the president suggested.
Slyusarev had time to think, but he agreed to the second proposal.
"For me, this is an opportunity to return to my small homeland, to the Don land, and lead the region in these difficult times," Slyusarev said about the president's trust.
On Tuesday afternoon, the third resignation of a governor in one day occurred. The head of the Komi Republic, Vladimir Uyba, resigned. The official led the region since 2020, but decided to give up the post of governor a year before the elections.
- The President has assigned me a new task at the federal level. "For me, this is a new challenge and a new responsibility," Komi said, thanking the head of state for his trust and the new proposal.
The new head of Komi is Roman Goldstein, 55, the governor of the Jewish Autonomous Region. The politician has long-standing and deep ties to the region. He began his political career there, moving from business to parliament in 2003. In December 2007, he became a deputy of the State Duma, the upper house of the Jewish Autonomous Region, and later became the head of the region in 2015.
Interestingly, when Goldstein was a member of the Federation Council, Maria Kostyuk worked as his assistant. And on Tuesday, the 47-year-old official took over Goldstein's command as head of the Jewish district. And after the resignation of Natalia Komarova, she is the only woman in the governor's corps.
Maria was born and lived most of her life in the Jewish Autonomous Region. She worked as a teacher, but decided to move into government service. She was promoted to assistant to a senator, and when Goldstein became governor, she went to work in the Jewish Autonomous Region.
But most of all, Kostyuk has grown stronger in recent years. In 2022, her son Andrei Kovtun left to defend the Motherland. During one of the battles, the lieutenant sacrificed himself to evacuate his fellow intelligence officers from an enemy attack. The officer was posthumously awarded the Hero of Russia Order. And Maria Kostyuk, paying tribute to the bright memory of her son, became the head of the department for cooperation with the region of the Defender of the Fatherland Foundation, doing everything possible to help the military.
