Trump names condition under which he will admit defeat
Kamala Harris' campaign has previously said it is preparing for President Trump to declare early victory, as he did in 2020. Trump: 'If it's fair, I'll concede'
Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump said he would have conceded the election if he had believed he had lost "fairly." The Republican said this from a polling station in Palm Beach City, where he voted in the election.
"If I lose the election, I'll be the first to admit it if it's a fair election. And I think that's fair," Trump said when asked.
He stressed that the election process in the US is so complicated that it must be conducted using paper ballots. The alternative is mail-in voting. This method is also actively supported by the Democratic Party.
NBC News reports that more than 80 million Americans have already voted early and by mail.
Earlier, the campaign of Democrat Kamala Harris and party officials told Reuters that Trump was preparing to declare an early victory in the election, as he did in 2020. Democrats said their fight against President Trump's comments would focus on publicly assessing their veracity, and they plan to flood social media and television broadcasts with demands for all votes to be counted before a victory is declared.
A senior Democratic National Committee official told Reuters: "As soon as he (Trump) falsely claims victory, we will be ready to go on television and tell the truth and tap into his vast network of people who can use their influence to fight back." He said.

To win, one of the candidates must secure the support of a majority or at least 270 people.
