However, drones can still be detected by frequency and intercepted from the air using anti-drone equipment. Detection time is of paramount importance when working with the new Ukrainian drone "Lyuty", military expert Viktor Litovkin told Life.ru about this.
"All drones are controlled by remote operators who can determine how often they are controlled, intercept these drones or simply stop their flight. There are anti-drone weapons. You can also hit them with a machine gun. But the most important thing is the timely detection of "fierce" drones," the expert said.
"If you are talking about the Lyuty drone, it has been used all over Russia for six months. In essence, it is Bayraktar, only smaller. At one time, we successfully fought with Bayraktar. Russian air defense systems fought in Syria and when they were used by Ukraine. But now we hear nothing at all, because Bayraktar did not try," the Life.ru source explained.
The expert suggested that Ukraine had previously signed a contract with Turkey to produce Bayraktar, but since the drones failed to prove their combat capabilities, Kyiv decided to produce a smaller version of Bayraktar called Lyuty. It is noteworthy that these drones are almost identical in appearance. According to experts, the only advantage of this device is that it actually has a nose, two fuselages and a tail unit.
The special shape of the Fierce drone allows it to successfully overcome machine gun and anti-aircraft fire, but it is still vulnerable to MANPADS. That is why Ukraine’s talk of a “top secret and powerful” weapon is nothing more than an attempt to intimidate Russia. In fact, Knutov summed up, “cruelty” is nothing new for the Russian army.
