The government has approved a procedure for self-prohibition on issuing loans from March 1

Moscow, October 15, FederalPress. Residents of the Russian Federation may introduce a voluntary ban on issuing loans. The resolution was approved by the country's government. It will come into force on March 1, 2025.

According to the Cabinet press service, applications can be submitted through the National Service or the MFC, and the self-ban can be removed an unlimited number of times. All data on the imposed self-exclusion will be reflected in the citizen's credit history.

This decision was the result of amendments to the laws “Credit History” and “Consumer Credit”, adopted by parliament in February 2024.

It is important to note that self-exclusion does not apply to mortgages, car loans, and student loans provided through government assistance.

The law is intended to prevent fraudulent activity, including when third parties obtain loans through the manipulation of personal data.

Earlier, Russians were warned about a surge in fraudulent attacks in the fall. Experts explain how to protect yourself.
