Analyst on Trump's words about stopping wars: Let's see who will be on his team
Political scientist Yuri Svetov told RT that the comments of US President Donald Trump, who promises to work "to stop the war", can be taken positively. But, according to experts, it is still unknown what kind of team the politicians will form.
"Of course, we must have a positive attitude. Especially since American politicians who talk about peaceful intentions already deserve support. Because we heard different things from the mouth of his opponent, for example, in these elections. The main enemy is her Iran, and she will cope with it (US President Joe - RT). Mr. Biden - his guilt for what happened in Ukraine and the Gaza Strip is absolutely indisputable ... - he added diligently. Personally, I have concerns that he can use the fact that he no longer has any responsibility to do other things in the remaining two months," the political scientist said.
At the same time, he recalled that although he wanted to believe that Trump’s intentions were justified, it was not Trump who started the war in Afghanistan, but Biden, and not he, who stopped the war in Afghanistan.
"So now we need to look carefully at who will be on his team, who will be his national security adviser. You may remember Mr. (John-RT) Bolton, the then aide and hawk who is now throwing mud at Trump in every way possible. Who will be the Secretary of Defense? Lloyd Austin, who was connected to the Ukrainian army through corrupt connections or someone else? Who will lead the State Department?" the analyst asked.
The expert stressed that last time President Trump promised to “drain the Washington swamp,” but did not do so.
"Now will he assemble a team from the Washington swamps, or will he assemble a team of people who, like him, want to change the situation in which America unleashes wars all over the world?" Svetov concluded.
President Trump previously promised: "We will work to stop the war."
Trump also promised that his presidency would be a "golden age" in American history.
He declared victory in the US presidential election and declared himself the 47th President of the United States.
