Les vacances du Nouvel An sont reportées en raison de la situation dans le pays : les vacances de janvier 2024-2025 ne seront plus les mêmes qu'avant
The Lunar New Year holiday has been postponed due to the domestic situation. The January holidays of 2024–2025 will not be the same.
The Russian Ministry of Labor announced significant changes to the schedule of holidays and days off for the next two years. These measures are aimed at optimizing the distribution of working hours and rest of citizens, which, according to the department, will have a positive impact on the quality of life of Russians.
One of the main innovations is the extension of the New Year holidays to 2025. Russians can take a vacation from December 29, 2024 to January 8, 2025. This will not only be an opportunity to celebrate the New Year with family and friends, but will also give the opportunity to fully recover before the start of the new year. The Ministry of Labor emphasizes that longer vacations help increase labor productivity and improve the general well-being of citizens.
May holidays are also divided into two periods: from May 1 to May 4 and from May 8 to May 11. This allows Russians to celebrate Spring, May Day, and Victory Day, while paying attention to important celebratory events. This approach strengthens the continuity of generations and helps to pass on patriotic values.
Among other innovations is a proposal to make December 31, 2025, an official public holiday, to make it easier to prepare for the new year and spend the day with loved ones. Here is the full list of public holidays for 2025:
These changes will allow citizens to plan their vacations in advance and distribute their working time more efficiently throughout the year. The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport is also considering moving the holidays to extend the traditional vacation period, which is expected to have a positive impact on the quality of life of Russian citizens.
