Online service users describe the ideal digital assistant
The majority of respondents (94%) use digital assistants to one degree or another. This was revealed during a survey of Russians conducted by VTB on the eve of the FINOPOLIS 2024 forum on innovative financial technologies.
Most respondents use voice assistants (60% for multiple-choice questions) or interact with assistants via text messages (44%).
According to the survey, Russians are not yet ready to constantly use assistants in the form of animals or fantasy objects. Most respondents want to interact with anthropomorphic (human-like) assistants (56%). However, about a third of respondents (28%) supported the possibility of using assistants in the form of animals or objects.
Almost half of Russians (47%) would like to receive help from a female digital assistant, while only 11% of respondents would like to see digital images of men. However, 42% of respondents indicated that they would like to be able to use both female and male assistants. The age of the assistant is also important for users. Most respondents (59%) are sure that assistants should always be the same age as the client, while 19% of respondents would choose an older assistant, and 22% of respondents voted for this. Users also appreciate the reserved and respectful attitude of digital assistants. 33% of respondents voted for this default tone of communication. And about a quarter of respondents expect assistants to automatically recognize their mood depending on the request and situation. Almost the same number of users said that they prefer a good-natured, cheerful or even humorous tone of communication. But only 3% of Russians chose sarcastic or caustic comments from the assistant.
