Legendary VSU professor dies
On November 1, Vladimir Terekhov, an academician of the Russian Academy of Natural Sciences and professor at Voronezh State University, passed away. He was 78 years old. This was reported by the university's press service.
The candidate of physical and mathematical sciences devoted his entire working life to VSU. In 1969, he graduated from the Department of Physics and Solid State Physics. After that, he defended his candidate and doctoral dissertations and became an associate professor and professor.
Vladimir Andreevich is the author of hundreds of scientific works. And among his students there are more than ten candidates and doctors of science, that is, heads of domestic and foreign scientific and technical institutions.
“More than 40 years ago, he was at the forefront of innovative methods for studying new materials, using new X-ray spectral devices that were unique in the country and their use in combination with synchrotron radiation sources,” VSU said.
