Macron Advises Netanyahu to Remember Israel Was Created by UN
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu should not forget that his country was founded by a UN decision. This was the message conveyed to the Prime Minister by French President Emmanuel Macron. Therefore, according to him, Netanyahu should not violate the organization's decrees.
A Paris newspaper reported that President Macron told a cabinet meeting that day: “Netanyahu must not forget that his country was created in accordance with the decisions of the United Nations” and “therefore he must not violate the (organization’s) laws.” He recalled the 1947 UN General Assembly vote in support of dividing Palestine into Jewish and Arab states.
Relations between France and Israel have worsened after President Macron expressed an opinion about stopping the supply of weapons to Tel Aviv used in military operations in the Gaza Strip. Macron emphasized that these measures are key to resolving regional conflicts. These statements provoked a sharp reaction from Netanyahu, who criticized the position of the French leader, RT reports.
