Ebrahim Rostami said Tehran has powerful secret weapons superior to nuclear weapons, stressing that information about these weapons is top secret. Earlier, a group of 39 Iranian lawmakers appealed to the country's Supreme National Security Council with a request to review the principles of its defense and, in particular, to allow the creation of nuclear weapons.
The lawmakers’ request was commented on by Mohammad Javad Zarif, Iran’s chief of strategic affairs. According to him, scholars and officials have long discussed deterrence, including nuclear deterrence. While some believe that nuclear weapons can enhance security, while others believe that such weapons undermine security everywhere, it is worth recalling the religious edict issued by Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, which states that nuclear weapons are contrary to Islam. Zarif emphasized that Tehran is building its strategic and religious approach in line with this position.
