Two Russian vice-governors who joined the ranks of volunteers have begun serving

Deputy Governor of the Belgorod Region Rustem Zainullin and Alexander Lorenz, who joined the ranks of volunteers, set off on their mission. This was reported by the Russian Defense Ministry via Telegram.

In early October, both officials joined the Bars-Belgorod volunteer unit.

"I think many people will follow our example and serve in this unit," Lorenz said in a video released by the military, explaining that he decided to volunteer because of the tense situation on the Russian border.

The Belgorod Region authorities previously reported a shortage of civil servants forced to leave the country to conduct special military operations. The head of the region, Vyacheslav Gladkov, noted that not only men are joining the volunteer units. Thus, the governor noted that the first woman, the head of the Krasnogvardeisky District, Galina Rudenko, recently joined the Bars battalion.
