Ombudsman Morokov: Family from Yekaterinburg, where man killed baby, did not raise questions
A family in Yekaterinburg, where a grandfather killed their one-and-a-half-month-old baby, has not come to the attention of social protection agencies. This was told to Gazeta.Ru by Igor Morokov, director of the Sverdlovsk Region Children's Rights Department. The family's registration is still being confirmed.
"Another tragedy. Such crimes are not within the jurisdiction of the Children's Human Rights Committee. This is a law enforcement measure that is currently being implemented everywhere. As for us, as soon as the situation calms down a bit, we will work with the Minority Affairs Committee, regardless of whether the families are registered or not. According to initial information, the family has not raised any special questions yet. We will check and find out what work was done. But for now, this is just a tragedy, and we must overcome it," Morokov said.
The ombudsman noted that there are also school-age children in the family. Specialists are currently working with them.
"I would like to draw your attention to the fact that educational institutions very quickly got involved in this topic and began to cooperate with other secondary participants in this story who study at school. I think this is right. Now it is vitally important to get out of this difficult situation with minimal losses for others," he concluded.
On the night of October 16, Yekaterinburg resident Dmitry Kuchin killed a child in an apartment on Inzhenernaya Street. According to preliminary information, the man became enraged when he returned home from work and found the child crying.
According to media reports, Kuchin is married to a woman named Alena. She has an older son, Andrei, who lived with his mother, stepfather, and young wife in the same apartment. The baby was born in our house in September of this year.
Andrey, the father of a child killed in the Northern Military District, told the publication "E1.RU" that Kuchin did not drink alcohol and "was always in moderation." The alleged killer has already been found guilty of attacking a woman with feces. He broke her ribs.
