Kurultai of Bashkiria withdrew the bill on childfree from the State Duma: "It fulfilled its function"

Republic of Bashkortostan, October 16, FederalPress. The National Assembly of the Republic of Bashkortostan has decided to withdraw the bill on banning childless ideological propaganda submitted to the Russian Duma. The deputies believed that it had done its job. This was reported in the official Telegram channel of the Kurultai of the National Assembly of Bashkortostan.

According to Konstantin Tolkachev, legislators do not touch upon the right of women and families to decide for themselves whether to have children or not. This bill will only hinder the creation of an attractive image of childlessness in the public sphere.

According to the speaker of the Bashkir People's Assembly, the idea of childlessness is destructive. "The idea of an idle life without obligations has consequences for society, culture and values, since it contradicts the traditional image of the family." In this regard, Tolkachev believes that the propaganda of such ideas is the path to the degradation of the institution of the family itself and the decline of the country's population.

Let us recall that this week the State Duma Committee on Information Policy recommended adopting in the first reading a bill banning the propaganda of ideology among children. The bill was developed jointly by the Speaker of the State Assembly Vyacheslav Volodin and the Speaker of the Federal Assembly Valentina Matviyenko. After this law comes into force, Russia plans to ban the dissemination of information calling for the refusal of childbirth via the Internet, the media, films and advertising.

A bill banning the spread of childlessness ideology and imposing fines for such violations is expected to be adopted by Russian lawmakers in the first reading in the near future.
