Khakassian farmer sentenced to five years in prison for using slave labor

Investigators have completed a criminal case on the use of slave labor against the 48-year-old head of a farm in Khakassia and sent the materials to the prosecutor's office. This was reported to Lenta.ru by the regional department of the Investigative Committee (SK) of Russia.

The man was charged under Articles 127.2 (Use of slave labor against two or more persons using intimidation, force or threat of use, together with confiscation and concealment of identity documents of the victims) and Article 117 (Torture). It's done. ), Criminal Code of the Russian Federation 126 (Kidnapping for mercenary motives), 127 (Illegal deprivation of liberty), 222 (Illegal possession of weapons) and 222.1 (Illegal possession of explosives). He is currently in custody and has not admitted his guilt.

According to investigators, from 2018 to 2023, a resident of a farm in the Ust-Abakansky District of Khakassia discovered three asocial men and one woman performing various tasks on his property. Although he promised to pay his workers regularly, the man actually beat his victims, locked them in the basement for disobedience, and forced them to work on the farm for 16 hours a day without pay.

The farmer also took away documents from his employees and prevented all attempts to escape. This continued for 5 years.

During a search of the house, security forces found the victim's personal documents, a hunting rifle and gunpowder. The criminal case against the defendant's brother, accused of forcing one of the victims to give false testimony, is already being heard in the courts.
