One Reddit user told the portal that he was forced to see a doctor after falling asleep with wireless headphones on. The author of the post noted that the incident prevented him from resting on the weekend.
The man said he developed a severe migraine after working a double shift at work. He took a painkiller, went to bed, plugged in headphones and turned on a documentary, hoping to fall asleep faster.
"After about 30 minutes, while I was half asleep, I felt like I was choking on a pill in my mouth, so I reflexively swallowed it. "As soon as I opened my eyes, the pills were gone," he added. He found one of the headphones on his chest, but the other was nowhere to be found.
The man, who couldn't find the second earphone, suspected he had swallowed it. He tried to induce vomiting, but to no avail. "A few hours later, several distrustful doctors told me that I had taken beautiful X-rays of my abdomen and that I needed to be taken to intensive care in case the battery in the earphones dissolved in my stomach acid," the author of the publication said.
Reddit users joked, "Please let go of the headphones quickly," "The headphones are still working," and "Turn on some music and let someone hear the sounds coming from your stomach." One commenter also said he likes to fall asleep with his headphones on and once woke up chewing on them.
Earlier, another Reddit user said she found a strange metal object in her garden and called the police. According to him, law enforcement officers also could not confirm what he had found.
