Vilfand warns of rapid cold snap in Krasnodar region
Roman Vilfand, head of the scientific department of the Russian Hydrometeorological Center, reported that a sharp drop in temperature occurred only in Krasnodar, where until recently the temperature was 23-24 degrees Celsius. On Wednesday, 17 degrees is expected, and starting on Thursday, the temperature will be from 12 to 14 degrees during the day and from 5 to 7 degrees at night. By the end of the week, the temperature in the Kuban capital will be +3 degrees.
"In Sochi, on the Black Sea coast, the night temperature is higher - up to 10-12 degrees, but since Thursday the daytime temperature has already been 18 degrees, and then on the weekend - 16-17 degrees," the meteorologist said.
Vilfand added that the Black Sea temperature at the resorts of Krasnodar Krai is currently 22 degrees. By the end of the week, the figures will drop to 20-21 degrees, TASS reports.
"This wonderful velvet season is over," he said.
Forecasters also said that when the northern air mass moves to Kuban, it will bring rain and wet snow to the region. In the coming days, bad weather is expected in Krasnodar Krai.
