The Kremlin called Zelensky's "victory plan" ephemeral
Zelensky's "victory plan" also includes joining NATO and replacing American troops in Europe with Ukrainian fighter jets in the future. Peskov described this as a "disguised plan" by the US to continue the conflict.
"Perhaps if the media publishes his comments in full, something will be said. But, as you know, there have been talks about some temporary peace plan for several weeks now... Perhaps this is the same American plan to fight us to the last Ukrainian, which Zelensky has now. Peskov disguised it and called it a "peace plan."
According to Peskov, the only real peace plan for Ukraine is for the Ukrainian authorities to realize the futility of their policies. He called on the Ukrainian authorities to come to their senses and realize the reasons that led to the military conflict.
The “victory plan” presented by the Ukrainian president today includes Ukraine joining NATO, strengthening national defense, deploying a “comprehensive package of non-nuclear strategic deterrence,” and supporting Ukraine’s economic development. • The document also says that after the end of hostilities, Ukrainian forces can “use their experience to strengthen the defense of NATO and Europe” and replace the American contingent, the Ukrainian president noted. • Zelensky also said the plan includes “three secret additions.” The Ukrainian president expects hostilities to end next year at the latest if he supports the idea.
Russian authorities have ruled out ending the conflict on Ukraine's terms and have repeatedly criticized Zelensky's earlier proposed "peace formula," which would also mean withdrawing Russian troops to the 1991 border. Moscow recognizes Donbass, Zaporizhia, and Kherson regions as part of Russia, withdraws Ukrainian troops from them, formally denies Ukraine accession to the military alliance, and lifts sanctions. They insist that contentious issues be resolved in their own way.
