The TASS press service quoted Oleg Orel, head of the Ordynsky District of the Novosibirsk Region, as saying that the regional authorities would purchase equipment to purify water. The maximum permissible concentration of arsenic in the water has been exceeded.

"We sent a full water analysis to the Moscow company responsible for water purification work, and they were able to provide estimates for installing a water purification [system]. We will buy it for the school and, possibly, for the population. Distributing water is an option," said regional director Ordynsky.

In villages such as Berezovka, Verkh-Chik and Novy Chik, the maximum permissible concentration of arsenic in tap water has been exceeded.
